Promoting Leadership in Aspiring Youth
Nathan is a junior attending Amador Valley High School. He has been a member of the PLAY family since 2019. He is the co-founder and the current president of the PLAY EcoEarth subgroup, and also participates in various other PLAY activities such as Kids Against Hunger, yard sales, card drives, and many other activities. In his free time, he likes to read science books, and participates in various clubs at school and is part of the school badminton team. He hopes to get more people involved in PLAY Leadership.
Ryan Li is a freshman at Amador Valley High School, serving as a PLAY Leadership officer for the second year. He actively participates in PLAY community events such as Gardening for Fertile Groundworks, meal distributions in San Jose, and Kids Against Hunger. Ryan also tutors with PLAY's tutoring subgroup. Outside of PLAY, he participates in Kung Fu, debate, and marching band. He also enjoys competitive math, politics, speech, pop culture, and film. This year, Ryan aims to enhance his leadership skills, organize more PLAY Leadership events, and make a positive impact in his community.
Anna Zhu is an 8th grader at Windemere Ranch Middle School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2020 and has participated in many of the activities held by PLAY, including gardening at Fertile Groundworks, refurbishing masks during the pandemic, writing and designing for PLAY Times, Chinese storytelling, and more. Outside of volunteering, Anna is an avid reader and enjoys drawing, writing, and debating. She hopes to inspire her fellow volunteers and have a lasting, positive impact on the community.
Allison is a sophomore at Albany High School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2022 and has attended a variety of volunteer events such as tutoring, piano performances at senior centers, community gardening, and many more. In her free time she likes spending time with her friends, cooking, and reading. She is excited to help PLAY grow and see PLAY continue influencing our community!
Sophia Zhang is a junior at Foothill High School. She has been a member of PLAY while leading programs, and will be serving as a youth leader this year. Outside of school, she enjoys singing, playing volleyball, and hanging out with friends and family. Sophia is looking forward to contributing and helping PLAY this year.
Isaac Wen is a senior at Dougherty Valley High school. He is the president of the PLAY Finance subgroup and enjoys working with kids. In his free time, he likes to practice Kung Fu, play video games, and read books. Isaac has been practicing Kung Fu for over 11 years and participates in many competitions. He is looking forward to inspiring others and helping PLAY reach new heights.
Joyce is a senior at Amador Valley High School. She first joined PLAY 5 years ago when she attended an event hosted by our music subgroup, which she now leads. Outside of PLAY, she is captain of Amador's badminton's team and enjoys drawing and listening to music. As PLAY's Co-President, she is excited to lead PLAY and its officers to expand its reach.
Lily is a sophomore at Amador Valley High School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2017, participating in events such as garage sales, food packagings as well as distributions, gardening, face mask refurbishings, supply donations, and clothing donations. She is also the co-founder of the PLAY Language Art subgroup and leader of the PLAY Speech & Debate subgroup. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, reading, writing, and volunteering. She looks forward to being a part of PLAY as it grows in the future.
Selina Lai is a sophomore at the Quarry Lane School. She has been a PLAY member since 2020. Aside from being an Event Coordinator, her other PLAY Leadership roles are as co-president of the Language Arts Club subgroup and as member of the PLAY Times newsletter team. Selina enjoys writing, reading, and playing tennis in her free time. As an Event Coordinator, she will strive to make the upcoming year full of great events.
Thomas Liu is a junior at Monte Vista High School. He tutors for the PLAY math subgroup and has attended many other PLAY volunteering events. Outside of PLAY, he likes to workout and play basketball. As treasurer, he hopes to spend money efficiently and fundraise as much money as possible.
Elisa Zhang is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. She has been part of PLAY Math for multiple years and leads the PLAY Times newsletter team. Outside of volunteering with PLAY, she also enjoys dancing and listening to music. As the external vice president, she is excited to work with new people and continue helping PLAY expand in this next year.
FINANCE VICE PRESIDENT
Leon is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. In his free time, he likes to play piano, solve Rubik's cubes, and code. He is also the president of Dougherty’s cubing club and director at USSCL (United States School Cubing League). In the 2024-2025 school year, he looks forward to continuing to lead PLAY Computer Science. He hopes that the upcoming year will be fun and productive.
Shirley Fukuda is a senior at Amador Valley High School. She has been in PLAY leadership since the sixth grade and has been in PLAY music ever since. Her hobbies are nail art and listening to music in her free time. As the organizational vice president and PLAY Music's co-president, she hopes that she can continue to spread her love for community service and music.
Jeffrey Liu is a Sophomore at Amador Valley High School. He is currently a teacher in the “PLAY Math” subgroup and is involved in various PLAY events. In his freetime, he enjoys art, both casually and competitively, winning awards in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition and Celebrating Art competition. Furthermore, he enjoys many areas of science, from competitive programming to physics olympiad. He hopes to contribute his skills and leadership to PLAY and make a positive impact in our community.
Matthew is a junior at Valley Christian High School with a passion for architecture, engineering, and graphic design. He takes pride in his creative projects, such as developing an immersive website for a school-wide Christmas event, designing user interfaces for two social impact apps, and creating a bio-inspired concept pavilion. With his experience in leadership, public speaking, and executing ambitious projects, Matthew is excited about contributing to PLAY in big ways this year.
Allen Li is a freshman attending Amador Valley High School. At PLAY Leadership, he participates in various volunteer events and is the co-founder of PLAY Eco-Earth. Outside of the organization, he spends his time biking and playing badminton. Allen takes an interest in physics, engineering, and the clarinet, practicing as often as possible. He hopes to meet new people and have a fun time at PLAY.
Aiden Mok is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. He has been active in PLAY for
five years now. He has been involved with conservation, volunteering at Hayward animal
shelter, meal packing at Kids Against Hunger, and musical performances. He enjoys playing the cello, writing stories and sketching whenever he has free time. He hopes to have a productive year and to work hard in order to properly give back to the community!
Cindy Zhao is a senior at California High School. She first got involved in PLAY Leadership in elementary school and is part of the PLAY Math subgroup. Outside of PLAY, Cindy enjoys dancing, trying new foods, traveling, and playing the violin. Cindy is looking forward to an exciting year with all the PLAY officers and members and hopes to expand the organization and its activities.
